The menu is designed by Laurent Peugeot, executive Chef of the eponymous one Michelin-starred restaurant. It is realised by Chef David Tavernier. The Chefs are French and their team is of a broad range of nationalities, enabling them to master a wide variety of cuisines.
Cairo’s markets provide the inspiration behind the seasonal menu at this unique floating restaurant in the Nile. The cuisine may be international, but you’ll taste the rich flavors of French dishes, skillfully prepared by our talented chef Laurent Peugoet . Our Executive Chef DAVID TAVERNIER at “LE DECK by Laurent Peugeot” is French born in the Burgundy region.
He start his career in 2003 by an apprenticeship in France with a “Maître Cuisinier de France”, than he start to work for many Michelin starred Chef (1*, 2*, 3*) and “Relais & Chateaux” properties around France for seven years.
He start his international journey with a 2* Michelin in Caraibia in a 5* Resort (8 restaurants) as Executive Sous-Chef.
He spend few years in England (London and country side) in different 5* Hotels & properties with 1* & 2* Michelin Chef as Sous-Chef in charge of the kitchen.
He also get the highest level in food hygiene & food safety certificate (HABC).
Than he moved to Lebanon for two years as Executive Sous-Chef with a 1* Michelin starred Chef in a 4 restaurants Resort.
In 2017 in Open the first “Gastronomic & Fine Dining” in Tbilisi (Georgia) along with the sister restaurant in Thailand (Chiang Mai) for a French 1* Michelin starred Chef as Executive Chef and been awarded by the famous “Gault & Millau” food guide.
In 2018, DAVID TAVERNIER was judge in “MY KITCHEN RULES” Culinary TV Show first season as the TOP International judge.
Just before Chef DAVID came to LE DECK by Laurent Peugeot, he did some food promotions in different hotels in Asia (Hong-Kong, Macau, China…).
Chef DAVID been introduced in the “CHAINE DES ROTISSEURS EGYPT” as Maître Rotisseurs in 2019.
